Näääk – Namnet Var Näääkish

“Namnet Var Näääkish” is the third single from the solo album “Näääk Vem?“. The beat is signed Charlie Bernardo and the video is produced by the duo  behind “Mina Gangsters“, Karl-Uno Lindgren and John Lindgren that is. I find this one as the weakest video coming from Näääk so far but it’s still a very suitable video for the song.

Näääk is truly on the subject with his Grammis2010- and P3 Guld nominations and that’s not all -- Näääk will support as an opening act for Talib Kwelis gigs here in Sweden. Don’t miss that out!

Interview with Ja’Da

Ja'Da

Ja’Da (consisting of Jamal Ryback and Daniel da Costa)  is the latest group to emerge from the very creative Ayla Crew. Last year they released the track “G5″ through Ametist Blog. They have been collaboration for three years, but this was the first time I ever heard a track from them. We decided to do an interview to get some more info about them.

What got you interested in rap?
- We’ve been interested in music since we were kids, Hip-hop became a part of our lives so it felt right to start rapping.

You’ve been collaboration for three years, did you rap before you formed Ja’Da?
- Yes, Jamal was rapping with the group UKN (now Mohammed Ali) and Daniel was part of the group Panetoz. We both lived in the same suburb so we decided joined forces and form Ja’Da.

Maybe I’m just missed it, but before “G5” I had never heard any track from you, why have you waited for so long to release anything?
- We felt that we didn’t want to release anything that didn’t meet our standards so we decided to work creatively and release our music when it felt right.

When reading your blog there’s very much humor in your posts, will that be reflected in your songs?
- Yes, partly. There will be humor on the album, which we’re recording right now, but it will be on a more serious level. Since we’re recording the album right now the blog hasn’t been updated in a while but it will soon be up and running again.

How will you release your album? Will it be released for free like the other records from Ayla?
- Yes, it will be released for free. Internet is the way to go!

What do you think of the status of the Swedish hip-hop scene?
- It’s been getting better these last years and we expect to top it with our upcoming album.

What artist are you currently listening to right now?
- Daniel is listening to Ayla and everything else I think sound good, Jamal is currently listening to Lupe Fiasco’s new mixtape.

What are you currently working on?
- The album, the album, the album and then the next album!

DJ Akilles – Best of 2009 (mixtape)

DJ Akilles Best of 2009 (Front)

Dj Akilles has previously released two (as far as I know) mixtapes collecting the best, biggest and most influential tracks from the previous year. In 2006 he released The “Best of 2005″-mixtape through the site “Svensk Underjord” which mixed Swedish and American hip-hop. Last year he released “Best of 2008″ trough the Community/Blog Whoa which focused on Swedish hip-hop only. When it’s time to sum up the best tracks from 2009 he’s back to the concept of the 2005-mixtape and mixes both American and Swedish hip-hop.

31 tracks are mixed together by scratch and beat-juggling to form this mixtape that contains tracks from Snoop Dogg, Raekwon, Method Man & Redman, Jay-Z, Drake, Clipse, Organismen, Mofeta & Jerre, Ken Ring and many more. On top of this the mixtape also contains a brand new exclusive track from Professor P & Dj Akilles called “Each and Every Station”. Professor P & Dj Akilles will release a new EP later this year, so this could be a taste of what’s coming.

New music from Superci

0A Supersci - What It Is EP - cover front

More christmas gifts, this time from Mr Noun and Arka of Supersci. “What It Is EP” consists of four tracks and some nice artwork. Music wise, producer team Flyphonic has left out the melodic jazz vibes from earlier releases in favor of a more electronic sound. And the result is dope as hell. Review is coming up.

PH3 – Telefon (Video)

PH3 gives you an early Christmas present in the form of a video to their track “Telefon”. The single will be officially released on Pope Records/Universal Music on January 15 (it was released independently by PH3 earlier this year). The video is directed by Elinor Aldal.

PH3, which consists of Eye N’I, Profilen, Nils Wallfält, Salem Al Fakir and Jacob Birgersson will release a new album this spring which apparently will be about

subscribers and non-subscribers

I have still no idea what that means, but some clues might be found on their website!
