The “Grammis 2010” award ceremony is over for this year. The award for “Club/Hiphop of the year” went to Promoefor his album “Kråksången“ and the award for “Music video of the year” went to Timbuktu for his video “Välj Mej” ,from the album “En High 5 & 1 Falafel“, directed by Daniel Wirtberg & Jonas Rudström for Daemon Films.
Petter, who’s been without a record deal since last year when he chose not to renew his deal with Universal Music recently signed a deal with Pope Records. Pope Records will release his upcoming album “En Räddare I Nöden” which will be released sometime this spring. Pope Records are excited about the deal and says that:
“Petter has recorded his strongest and best material yet, and this phase two of his career is going to be something extra!”
The first single from the album is called “Fast För Evigt” and is produced by Collén & Webb who’s also going to produce the whole album. “Fast För Evigt” is available for listening on Petters Blog and will be available through Spotify Premium from Monday and trough iTunes Music Store, Spotify Free and other digital music stores from Wednesday.
Dj Akilles has previously released two (as far as I know) mixtapes collecting the best, biggest and most influential tracks from the previous year. In 2006 he released The “Best of 2005″-mixtape through the site “Svensk Underjord” which mixed Swedish and American hip-hop. Last year he released “Best of 2008″ trough the Community/Blog Whoa which focused on Swedish hip-hop only. When it’s time to sum up the best tracks from 2009 he’s back to the concept of the 2005-mixtape and mixes both American and Swedish hip-hop.
31 tracks are mixed together by scratch and beat-juggling to form this mixtape that contains tracks from Snoop Dogg, Raekwon, Method Man & Redman, Jay-Z, Drake, Clipse, Organismen, Mofeta & Jerre, Ken Ring and many more. On top of this the mixtape also contains a brand new exclusive track from Professor P & Dj Akilles called “Each and Every Station”. Professor P & Dj Akilles will release a new EP later this year, so this could be a taste of what’s coming.
More christmas gifts, this time from Mr Noun and Arka of Supersci. “What It Is EP” consists of four tracks and some nice artwork. Music wise, producer team Flyphonic has left out the melodic jazz vibes from earlier releases in favor of a more electronic sound. And the result is dope as hell. Review is coming up.
The final nominees for the Swedish Grammis Award 2010 was revealed earlier today. After the jurys first nomination and a public voting round the final nominees in the category “Club/Hip-Hop” are
We wrote about “För Alla Dom” a week ago and now the single and video is finally released! “För Alla Dom”, which is a collaboration between Petter, Ison & Fille and Mogge, is released as part of the alternative christmas show “Oh no…It’s Christmas“. The single is available throughiTunes Store for 18 kr and it’s definitely worth the money! The track is really great and all surplus from the single will be donated to “Situation Stockholm”.
We’ve written plenty about Lazee in the past and by now he shouldn’t need any introduction. The first “First Class Five Stars” mixtape was released earlier this year and featured guests such as Adam Tensta, Kano, J-Son & Skrilla Kidz. Now it’s time for the second installment in the series, “First Class Five Stars – Season 2″. Even though I liked the first installment I still felt it weren’t near the brilliance of his first tape “It Is What It Is” but I was glad that it wasn’t as (in my opinion) commercial as the debut album “Setting Standards”. On “First Class Five Stars – Season 2″ Lazee has upped his game and he says on his blog that:
“this mixtape is not only a mixtape its a mixtape album and the difference between those two is that I put a lot of work, organizing and planning for this tape…”
Something which, from what I’ve heard from the tape so far, I believe. This mixtape definitely outshines “First Class Five Stars” and it really sounds like he’s put in a lot of work into this!
