Max Peezay – #1 feat. Ears

Max Peezay recently released his album “Boven i dramat” , the album continues with the dark grimey sound of “Discokomittén” but also contains elements of Drum’n’ Bass and Dubstep. The first single (also called “Boven i dramat“) featured a more regular hiphop-sound than what some, at least I, was used to. The second single, “#1″,  which features Ears brings a more drum’n'bass influenced sound.

The video is directed by Jonas Embring.

If you haven’t bought “Boven i dramat” already i strongly advice you to order it from here!

PH3 – Telefon

PH3 - Telefon

Eye N’ I and Profilen are both well known on the Swedish hiphop scene and they should need no further introduction. What some people might have missed though is that they, together with Nils Wallfält, Salem Al Fakir and Jacob Birgersson form the group PH3. The group features a more experimental sound, although still with connections to hiphop, than you might be used to hearing from them. Three years ago they released their album”På Väg Till Planet PH3″ which was well recieved by critics and audience.

Now they’re in the studio cooking up some more raw tunes for their upcoming album, which is due this fall. I recieved an e-mail from Eye N’ I saying this:

“We will be releasing an album about subscribers and non-subscribers this fall.”

I have quite honestly no idea what this means, but here’s the first single of the album called “Telefon”.

AFC – Inatt

afc_inatt_cover_final

AFC — Allied Forces Crew is maybe mostly known for the wide public as being some sort of sidekick(s) to Petter since they have featured several of his joints and been on tours with him during his 10 years career. Most famous is probably the single “Repa skivan” with Petter released 2004. They have also featured other artists like Ison & Fille and Fjärde Världen to mention some.

However, the twins Thabo (aka Smiley) and Ramo started making music allready 1991 in a constellation called “Funk Squad” with DJ A.K and back then they rapped in english. It wasn’t before 2001 they started doing tracks in swedish but they still continous to rap in english as well.

They released their debut album “Varje Dag E Löning” back in 2006 and several issues with the record lead to silence around the twins. But, two months ago they released their great rough street single “Git Sumthin” produced by Dj Large.

And now it’s time for their second single, this one in swedish, called “Inatt” produced by Astma & Rocwell. Both singles are an earnest of their two planned record, one in swedish and one in english which drops this autumn through their own label Slangin’ Records. Hopefully.

A video for “Inatt” is being prepared and you can find some backstage footage from the video recording over at Wonlove.

EDIT: You can now find “Inatt” at Spotify and iTunes.

Ison & Fille – Jag Skrattar Idag

Ison & Fille - jag skrattar idag

Ison & Fille released their debut album “Vår Sida Av Stan” in 2002 and has since then released 2 full length albums, 1 EP, a couple of mixtapes with the group Highwon and featured on tracks by Petter, Advance Patrol, Stor, Paragon, Fattaru, Organism 12 and numerous others. After all of this they took a break from music and Ison started working as a host for the morning show on SR Metropol whilst Fille could be seen on the comedy show “Lilla Al-Fadji & Co” starring him and Big Fred.

But now, three years after the release of their latest full length album, they’re finally back in the studio to finish their long awaited (at least from me) forth album, “För Evigt”.

The first single is called “Jag Skrattar Idag” and is produced by Astma. “Jag Skrattar Idag” will be avaliable through iTunes and other digital outlets on June 9 via Hemmalaget/Bonnier but for a limited time the track is available for free through Wonlove (who’s celebrating their re-launch).

J-Son – My Window

J-Son made a name for himself last year when he released the track “Lookie Lookie” , soon followed by “Pretty Boy” which showed that he was definitely an artist to pay attention to. Recently he has been laying some hooks and verses on tracks by 50 cent, Jennifer Brown and the latest track he appeared on, “Loser” by Yo_Dah & Tommy Lee, featured appearances by Lil Wayne, Spark Dawg, Tyga, Joell Ortiz, Smitty & Sum 41. On top of this he and producer Baby Supreme form the production team No Braggy Boyz which recently did a song for the Japanese pop group W-inds.

After all of these guest appearances it’s now finally time for J-son to release a solo track from his upcoming album “Never Half Stepping” which is due in fall. “My Window” is produced by Addeboy vs Cliff and with back vocals by Yaiya. “My Window” features a very different sound from the two earlier singles and it really showes that he want’s to continue to grow as an artist. He says this about the sound on “My Window”:

“I never want to stop shocking people and I will keep switching it up, because I don’t just see me as a rap artist, I want to get as much as possible out of music, and music is so much more than just rap.”

“My Window” is avaliable through Same Blood Entertainment’s shop.

Zacke – Spela Mig På Radion feat. Movits!

Zacke - Spela mig på radion feat. Movits!

The release of  Zacke’s long awaited album,Visst är det vackert, is finally getting closer and he recently released the third single, “Spela mig på radion”. The track features Movits! and gives us their view on the current state of hiphop and pop-music and the overuse of the auto tune effect (seems like Mohammed Ali aren’t the only ones annoyed with this effect). Zacke himself describes the track like this:

“Spela mig på radion” is a sarcastic kick aimed at the music business and those who are active in it and it’s dealing with todays trends that is often used by artists today. A portrait of the unestabilshed artists struggle to make his way into the grand hall to colleges with booked seats. The Jante law might be dying in Norrland, but the bitterness till lives and WTF “If you can’t beat then, join them”.
