Adam Tensta is currently one of the brightest shinings stars on the Swedish Hiphop-scene. Last year he released his debut album “It’s a Tensta Thing” which was well recieved by the critics as well as the audience. and he won the Swedish Grammy awards for best “Dance/Hip Hop/Soul” 2008. The album mixes hiphop with House/Electro, thus making the sound very club-friendly. But even though it all may sound like club-bangers he still writes conscious lyrics, something that has made some ciritcs claim that he’s the future of Swedish hiphop. Now he and RMH ent are releasing a new track for free on playahead.se. The track, that is called, “Up And Comming” is produced by “Howard Who” and features “Eboi” who hopefully will get some more recognition this year (he definetly outshines Adam on this track!).
Swedish Rapper Afasi and Producer Filthy are getting ready to release their debut album “Fläcken”. The first single is called “Glider” and will be released on may 5 but you can already watch the video! Afasi & filthy have been active on the Swedish hiphopscene for a long time but due to problems with records companies the debut album has ben postponed until now. But that of course doesn’t mean they haven’t been active. They have released mixtapes, an EP, featured on numerous tracks and last year they had a hit with the song “Alla som inte dansar är våldtäktsmän” which they released under the name “Maskinen” together with Frej (Slagsmålsklubben) and Khilen (Snook).
But now the time has finally come for them to take all the shine! “Fläcken” will be out on April 9 through “P.O.P.E Records”.
It’s been three years since their last album as a group but now they’re finally back! Looptroop Rockers is getting ready to release their fourth album, titled “Good Things”. The first single “The Building” will be sent out to radio during the next week. But you can already check the video out and yes it’s really Embee who sings the chorus!
On the new album Looptroop Rockers have collaborated with Rakaa Iriscience (of the Dilated Peoples), Cunninglynguists, Timbuktu, Adam Tensta, Mapei, Lazee, Allyawan, Alibi and Svante Lodén (of Damn!). “Good Things” will be released on april 23 through DvsG / Bad Taste Records. Looks like April is going to be a great month for Swedish hiphop with Afasi & Filthy releasing their album on April 9, Looptroop Rockers and Paragon on April 21 and Chords one week later, on April 30!
Chords, whom to the masses probably is mostly known for being Timbuktu’s sidekick, is finally getting ready to release his sophomore album “Things we do for things”. It’s been 5 years since his solo debut “The Garden Around the mansion” was released (and about the same time since I first saw him live with one of my worst hangovers ever) but he’s been keeping busy by releasing 2 reggaealbums under the name “Helt off” together with swedish producer “M.O.N.S” from “Breakmecanix” and numerous guestappearances as well as some heavy touring with Timbuktu and Damn!.
But now the time we all been waiting for is finally here, “Things we do for things” is due on April 30 on JuJu Records and the first single, “Luckiest Man Alive” will be sent out to media very soon! But as a sneak peak you can already download the track “Blind to the facts”. So be on the lookout, Swedens best kept secret is back! I guess I just leaked it!
